Christmas Gift 1983

The best Christmas gift I received in 1983 was my very first power planer. I believe it was a Makita. I did not modify it properly, I simply worked around the depth limitations which required more passes off the bottom of the blank. I just turned sixteen and I was so stoked. This required a big commitment from my parents, as they allowed me to shape in the garage and we hung bed sheets from the rafters to contain the dust. This was at my mom's house in San Juan Capistrano. Then when we moved to Dana Point they allowed me to shape in the garage of the new house as well. Great parents who supported my shaping dreams! Thanks mom and pops!
